Storm in my Head

from Swaddled in Gloaming by Lewis Mullen

/

about

My head has been home to many storms, though I have been fortunate to have support and friendship along the way. The storms are at times physical (migraine), sometimes mental (illness) and always a part of me (neurodivergence)

lyrics

This weather is mental
It’s entirely in my mind
But it’s not any less real
For taking place inside
Ah Ah Ah

Soles on the soil
Spirit uncoil
I kiss the ground that we tread
Negative ions
Like faerie lights flying
All to calm the storm in my head

Static discharged
Colours bled
Moved and changed and mantra said
All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head

All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head

All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head

Free the wild
Quiet the child
I kiss the ground that we tread
Out in the pines
Wandering wynds
All to calm the storm in my head

Static discharged
Colours bled
Moved and changed and mantra said
All to calm the storm in my head
All to calm the storm in my head

This weather is mental
It’s entirely in my mind
But it’s not any less real
For taking place inside
Ah Ah Ah
