Composed and recorded in 2011

This electronic composition with spoken words samples, was from a second attempt at writing an album in a month. It might be odd, but it's unusual

I think the idea came from the TV mini-series Secret Smile starring David Tennant as a very scary manipulative character who gaslights the main character played by Kate Ashfield, and pretty much gaslights the viewer throughout. I wanted something where it sounds like a confession, but the words are chopped and scrambled and there's nothing explicitly bad in them, but an underlying air of menace nonetheless

It's certainly unusual, but at least it's odd

I was going to call the track Secret Smile after the TV show, but changed it at some point, clearly concerned listeners might be expecting a cover of the Semisonic song
